Collection consists of transcripts of diaries kept by John C. Purdy, 1867-1908, and Elbert Purdy, North Salem, 1908-1962, concerning their daily activities; Elbert Smith Nehemiah Willson, North Salem, 1861, concerning farm work, weather, church attendance, visits, with some cash accounts; and Delia Howe, Catskill and North Salem, 1828-1834, concerning weather, sermons and religious thoughts, visits, teaching school, deaths, and her observations from a visit to Auburn prison.
